i think this whole point system is designed in a good way..initially you have a limit..then as you get more involved you can answer more..that also increases your credibility..

Its to allow others an equal chance to play/answer/ask. Yahoo, like anyother server, only has a limited amount of space. By setting limits they hope to stem the onslaught on their servers. If you think about how many questions you could answer in a day and multiply that by 1million people (at the very least) imagine how much mail traffic that would be. You can begin to understand why Yahoo has set limits on this.

If you're a level one user, then you're only allowed to answer 20 questions per day. You can still vote on best answers, rate best answers, etc, which still accumulate points, but these too are listed. Once you reach level 2 all of these are doubled so that you'll get to answer 40 per day.

You answer as many questions as your limit allows per day, and keep doing it the next day and so on. And you answer them as well as you can, so that you get points for being chosen Best Answer.

you have to answer your daily limit. then rate resolved questions. each will give you points. once you get enough points you can answer more questions a day. asking questions makes you loose points.

You earn them up over time. To earn more points answer questions, rate questions and vote on questions.
