Send the Dixie Chicks to the middle east?

Freedom of speech allows the Dixie Chicks to share their opinions, just as it allows you to share yours. You aren't required to like them, listen to them or spend one single cent on any of their music. And if you've got $5 to spare, why not donate it to the candidate of your choice?

Why does everyone pick on The Dixie Chicks just because they make a statement that you don't agree with? Are they not entitled to free-speech like everyone else? They are musicians, for God's sake! Would you actually not by a CD or go to a movie, that you would otherwise like, just because of a stupid (or maybe not so stupid) comment?

I am absolutely a social conservative but I couldn't care less about the private lives or political views of anyone in show business. I either like their music or I don't. I either like their acting or I don't. Worry about the views of the politicians!

(By the way, The Dixie Chicks put on one of the very best shows in all of Rock &Country. Check 'em out!)

The Dixie Chicks had every right to say what they have said. The fact that death threats were made against people demonstrating the freedom of speech disgusts me. They weren't saying soldiers are bad or that they are doing a bad job... they were saying we don't need to be there in the 1st place, bring the soldiers home and protect their young lives. I feel bad for the future of our country because of uneducated people who make assumptions they know nothing about. You don't need to agree with them, but making ignorant comments doesn't help your case.

I totally agree! I stopped listening to them when they made that remark about President Bush and now they're blabbering about patriotism and why everyone makes it a big deal. Send them to the Middle East where the women cannot live as freely as we do here in the US!!!!

Get over it already. Everyone has their own opinion obviously. You don't like then you don't like it. So what? I happen to agree with them. Send me the money. I have more guts than most, I would gladly see what's going on in those countries. Just to say that I have. I won't sit here complaining about such trivial things.

Obviously, Mr. Free Speech isn't being very respectful to YOUR freedom of speech, now is he? Opinion is opinion, taken for whatever its worth. And MY opinion is that Dixie Chicks fu<king suck, and should totally be sold to a Mid-Eastern harem... if they'd even take their sorry, doughy @$$es.

BUt shouldn't we really be sending Bush, Cheney, Rice and Rumsfeld to the Middle East? It was their idea wasn't it and if they're so gung-ho on invading other people's countries shouldn't they be the ones on the front lines? I mean seriously--have you really thought about your question?

I didn't vote them into public office, rather, Iisten to their music and their music is GREAT! If I don't like what they say, I don't listen. Lets see what kind of music you get once our free speech is gone. Hope we never go there because you won't be able to ask that question then.

I agree a trip to one of these countries might teach them what "patriotism" is all about.. since they cant "get it"... A place where they kill you for opening your Big mouth.. They should appreciate this country more. instead of bashing it every time they get in front of foriegn press.
