How many times have you read the Bible all the way through and what religion are you?

If you respond "Christian" name the denomination.

Update:

I posted this in the "Science-Other" category because it seemed the most logical place for it.

I'm in Matthew right now, just finished the old testament. so zero times. I'm a Biblical follower. Any religion of Christianity that beleives they are right should be the same, but for some reason they divide themselves into infinite amounts of dissagreement and confusion. They have ministers and interpereters, but there really only is the Bible to get the knowledge from.

I've often waited for questions like this one and you don't know what a pleasure it is to give you an answer. I am related to Martin Luther (the founder of the Lutheren religion) a direct decendant and I can say that I've read the Bible through 6 or 7 times and I can tell you that I am Christian and yes that is religion, not a religion. Denomination is a cruel and unusuall punishment it's also "labeling" or as Jesus would say "Judging" No 2 religions agree ........Now that is pretty unusual seeing how there was only one God................Hey maybe God was the liar, ya think? NO! Hey wait a minute I know how does sound,

Man (unfortunatly) can't live with the truth and his ego doesn't allow him to be anything else other than the "Chosen Ones" so heres what you do,

    1. Remove all religeons that are based on some prophet or wise man like mohamud or budda you know harri crishna and people like that

    2. Then take all of the religions that believe in God and subtract the ones that don't believe that Jesus was and is the son of God (Jews)

    3. Oh yeah subtract the ones who pray to Mother mary and saints because they have defied Gods direct order not to worship graven images or to pray to any one else but him (catholisism)

    4. Subtract all of those who follow a "New Testament" (not The New Testament) of Jesus Christ you know the mormons there Bible is based on a supposed set of Plates made of gold that have never been seen by any one else other than the guy who claims they existed......But he lost them and oh yeah his dog ate his home work to. These supposed plates were written by Jesus when he toured the americas or wait it took a whole life for him to be born and live and teach and heal and be crucified and resurected............Where did he get time to grab a plane over here

    5. Quite frankly subtract the rest of them to for reasons I haven't found yet just to be fair, and all you have is a bunch of Christians running around reading the same bible with different opinions now one thing I can say for sure is that weather a person is right or wrong eventually he will read the truth that is if he is at all interested in it and he will stand corrected.

    6. Bottom line is this, you don't need rocks wood mortar or benches. What you need is to read it and carry the words in your heart, that is the real church, oh yeah and I am a real Preacher and I have one religeon and it goes like this:

The Father The Son The Holy Spirit and The End!

p.s. people and there religeons are the ones who start holy wars because its wrong to see God any other way than there own. On the other hand if there were no religions and just the bible there would just be alot of Christians running around with there own opinions and every one would be alive and without a Holy War.

Source(s): Just an old hippie\Preacher what else do you need?

I'm starting to for my first time. ( I've always read verses and chapters but never the whole thing). I became a Christian this past year, so I really want to read the whole thing/

I'm starting backwards with the New Testament and Psalms.

Then I'm hoping to take a class on the Old Testament and read that through.

My Christian denomination? I go to a Baptist church, but I dont know if I consider myself a Baptist.

ONCE: from the start to the last. Word by word

and numerous times to compare the gospels and to follow the track of episodes.

I guess I could be standing somewhere between agnosticism and Deism.

Just for your info: Old Testament is more precious as a literary work. New Testament is rather dull and colorless as a literary piece. Johann is my favorite but Charles Bukowski could write it better those last parts.

There's a 'religion' section on Answers.

I never read much of the bible. Only parts I read were the humerous parts (like when God names Abraham several times, and when all kinds of weird stuff is rendered illegal; such as eating shrimps).

I'm a discordianist, so bear with me and plz savor the buns!
