Yes, I've had a quadruple bogey before unfortunately. A quadruple bogey is recorded when a player has four strokes over par on one hole (i.e. a 7 on a par 3, an 8 on a par 4, or a 9 on a par 5). However, some people just call it four over par. Bogies could hypothetically go up to infinity, because one can score an infinite amount of strokes over par (although some tournaments allow you to forfeit a hole with a set penalty of a certain amount of strokes). After a quadruple bogey, I'm sure they just call it five over par and so on.

RE:
Has anyone heard of a quad bogey?

Not only have I heard of a quad, I've been guilty of making one or two before. I just refer to triples and quads as OTHER. It takes the sting off a little.

A quad is 4 strokes over par for that hole..Ex: The hole you just played was a par 4 but, it took you 8 strokes to get it in the hole.. That's 4 over par or a "quad"..Good luck

Oh yeah I have. Different terms for it, depending on who you play with. The best are snowman and dog balls.
