What is the best way to remove old bubbling tint from car windows?

Peel off what you can. Use a razor blade to pull up the corners and pull slowly. Once you have mostly the sticky stuff left, use an old rag and ACETONE. The Acetone will eat through the glue. Don't use too much because you don't want the acetone dripping on the window seals, or on the car door.

Peel it off. The adhesive is obviously breaking down, so it's not gonna be as hard as you think. The problem comes from the adhesive now wants to come off the film and stay on the window. Believe it or not, SOS pads soaked liberally. DO NOT let the detergent of the SOS pads diminish to the point that it's gone. As soon as you feel the detergent is starting to disappear, grab a new SOS pad. I did this on a '92 Camaro with great results. Got the knowledge from a friend who used to install window tint. I thought he was nuts, until I did it. Worked great especially since I had rear window defrost.

Squirt some lighter fluid on the windshield, and get a flat object, like a spatula. Scrape off like scraping ice off the windshield..
