is it just me or are the days getting shorter?

They are if you are north of the equator.

The days will start getting shorter by a minute each day to prepare for winter.

If you're busy, yeah... if you're older, yeah. Time flies when you have stuff to do as well as when age approaches you. Remember when you were a child, the days were LONGGGG... It just hit me right now, it means our LIVES are shorter too.

yesterday was the summer solstice so yes they are now officially getting shorter.

As of today, yes. Yesterday was the longest day of the year.
