How do I get A copyright to record another artist's song?

My band only plays covers, how do I get a copy right to Record?

We play Old School Blues, some might be public domain.

    If you are only making a demo, I wouldn't worry about it. Every cover band on the planet makes demo's with other peoples music. If you want to sell the demo, you might have problems so you would need permission from the artist.

    You'll have to get permission from the artist or its estate for the deceased artist. You can't be going around doing that unless you have granted permission to do so. Understood?

    You need to get permission from the person who owns the copyright.
