A vocal competition - choosing a song...?
I am singing in a huge vocal competition in about a week. I am trying to choose my song. I've narrowed it down to these three and would like some opinions. What would you want to hear if you were watching the show?
What A Girl Wants - Christina Aguilera
We Belong Together - Mariah Carey
Whenever, Wherever - Shakira
I sing all three equally well, though the Shakira song is not vocally challenging. It is immensely fun, however, and I'll be able to sing some of it in Spanish. I also intend to sing the second verse of the Christina song in Spanish.
Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions?
I wanted to do acapella, and my audition was acapella, but I have to have a track. I was disappointed too.

I'd have to say Whenever, Wherever - Shakira... when i was younger i was OBSESSED with that song! I'm from Colombia, so i got into Shakira before she became as famous as she is today. I also love singing her songs. I hope you do great in the competition!

None of those songs/artists are vocally challenging, if you want to show the audience what your voice is capable of, do something acapella, something that shows off your range and tone, something that makes the audience take a breath or sit forward in their seats. All of those girls voices are manipulated by electronics and machines. If you have a gift then you can pull a vocal performance off without any outside manipulation.

I think Whenever, Wherever is your best bet. I personally think its the best out of the 3, and if you have fun singing it, go for it!!!!!

I think you should sing Whatever,Whatever by Shakira.That will so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
