How many users now feel that Yahoo Answers has failed at being a useful tool for research in general?

I have found that the best thing to do is to search resolved questions first. If you have time to wait, then you may get some decent answers, but if looking for an answer quickly, it isn't effective. I have been able to eventually get some good answers though. Wish there was more of a bs filter...

No, I don't think Yahoo! Answers is that bad. I've been using Yahoo! Answers for my assignments such as reports and I found that searching for answers in Yahoo! Answers is easier than searching in Google or Yahoo!. Yahoo! Answers can solve any minor problems as well. If you really need to get a certain question solved, then post it in here. You'll definitely get good some answers. I've been experienced here although my score is low because I mainly use Yahoo! Answers to help me in research as well as to kill time.

Finally I get at least 75% marks for any reports.

it's not really that good at all for research...you should do your own research, people in here are either legit trying to answer good questions, or just spreading lies, poison, and immaturity....for example: there is a character named tom who hangs out in a room designed for religous folks to talk about their respective religions, but he hangs out to bash them, now tellme is that fair? No, it isn't, it's peoplelike him that give yahoo! answers a bad rap....if people can't be mature and answer questions about things they ACTUALLY know something about, then what's the point...hope my experience has helped you in some small way...have a nice day..

I don't use it for research unless I'm really really stuck, I use google for that, but normally when I can't find something on google, no-one here knows the answer either, so I'm still none the wiser.

partially i agree what you say since most of the time the answers are the personall feelings not the research based material.Though someone may take the question seriously & subsequently answers likewise but thats rare.

Personally I don't think it has failed, it's fun but dangerous. People can get the wrong info, depends on how they take it. Glad to be of help to some people.
