When going to a junk yard they always mark the parts you bring in, does anyone know...?
Where can you get those different color grease pencils or whatever kind of markers they use to mark auto parts when going into a junk yard. I have tried different auto parts stores, and Harbor freight, Home Depot. Everyone knows what I'm referring to, but doesn't know where to go, or exactly what they're called. Anyone know what they are called and where I can get several different colors? Thank You!!

KEEL. That is what they use around here, that is what I use. I can go to 20 different professional stores, ask for it by name, and the yay-who behind the counter will look and be totally clueless. I have to tell them the color crayons for big kids. 1 out of a 100 professionals actually know what it is called. Auto-body supply and lumber yards. I am not saying anything bad if you don't know the name, but isn't it tiring when you go talk to a person at the counter and they are dumb in their own profession?

They use them at the bakerys also to mark the bags and also at meat butchers. They're wax pencils. Have you tried Office Depot?

Napa does carry some. They are PAINT pens that are used for marking on metal.
Also, you might want to try a local WELDING supply store.

You should be able to buy grease pencils at any art supply store (such as Michael's) or you can buy them online too!

These are the ones that the junk yards use - they are not the ones you get a hobby stores / those will not stick to greasy or oil soaked parts...
