Should the US treasury or mint continue minting pennies, it cost almost 2 cents to make one cent.?

If a penny was made of copper it would probably cost a nickle, maybe more.

Update:

If we had no pennies, instead of charging 99 cents stores would probably charge only 95, just to keep the price under the dollar or next dollar amount.

Update 2:

Huey, that was 1994, prices have gone up

How stupid can "they" be. This happens in every currency around

the world at some point. There is nothing you can still buy for 1 cent. Used to be bazooka bubble gum but now that's gone so I say get rid of the penny...

Because, if they stop making pennies, they get to START controlling costs. How the heck else are you supposed to get change that isn't divisible by 5. Be careful what you ask for.

Seems like a waste of our taxes and metals to keep making pennies. Today they are usless.

Look at them.........Now you know. No more silly questions. Our country is run by Forest Gumps ' that we elected. Congress has NO intelligence at all. That's not saying a lot about the voters either.
