How did curiosity kill the cat?

Curiousity overwhelmed the cat's own good sense and judement. The end of the phrase, however, is 'satisfaction brought it back', which really changes the meaning.

I know how curiosity killed the crow but not a cat. Once somebody was aiming a gun and out of curiosity the crow flyed to see whats there in the barrel and got killed. May be cat story has got similar lines

The human answer: the cat was so curious he forgot to be cautious, so he didn't realize he was in danger until too late.

The cat's answer: unsatisfied curiosity is fatal. Everyone knows that.

Because the cat was so curious about what the neighbors across the street were doing that it wasn't paying attention while crossing the street and got ran over!!!

The cat got in the dryer while it was being loaded and was not found until it was too late. (This did NOT really happen just in case anyone wonders)
