Former police officer/current attorney...working in child support.
A civil attachment is similar to an arrest warrant, but then again it isn't.
Its probably where the Judge wants to speak with your boyfriend about his child support obligation. Sadly, alot of times you can't get the fathers to voluntarily come in and see the Judge. So, they issue these attachments. More than likely your boyfriend didn't live up to his part of the bargain. I would recommend he get it taken care of...it can turn into a criminal matter. He'll probably have to go before the Judge. The Judge will ask some questions, maybe put some restrictions on him as far as his support. Nothing too serious, but like I said IT CAN turn serious...
Its not really a "criminal charge", but attachments are usually served by law enforcement. He won't have any criminal record from a civil order. Good luck.

I know civil and criminal are different. Civil is between 2 individuals and criminal is when the state charges. I do know by experience don't try to go through Support KIds. Raising children is hard enough for 2, very, very hard for 1 and help financial and mental is necessity. Best of luck and may God bless you and give you information you need.

Talk to a lawyer. If you can't afford to pay a lawyer. A lot of communities have free legal aid for those who cannot afford to pay. Give it a try. You also can call some lawyers and get legal advise for free. Good luck to you. God bless.

If this question is in reference to a child the two of you had together, you can contact child support enforcement.

i think that just means any job he gets they will take money from his check. i don't think that is a warrant. you can call your police department and ask them to check if he has a warrant.
