How can I live in Australia? I'm from the USA...?
I want to live in Australia for at least 6 months. But I'm not sure were I would live or work. Does anyone have suggestions on where to live or if I would be able to get work without being a periment resident?

Yes you can get a working tourist visa, this is valid for 12 months. You can only apply for this whilst you are outside of the country.
You can work full time for 6 months for one employer, then you have to change employers.
You will require a medical and chest X ray and whatever the visa costs. You also have to be under a certain age, I cant recall what that is but if you go to www.immi.gov.au all the information you want is there. I live in Adelaide and that is really nice and about the cheapest place to live, Sydney is about the most expensive.
This must get me 10 points, surely no one can beat that info!

The Australian Embassy will process all of your paperwork and will be able to answer all of your questions.
Try the big cities. They have the best job opprotunities. Or maybe a beach resourt.
This is Australia's immigration website.

My husband and I will also be moving to Australia on a Regional Skilled Migration Visa. I agree that Adelaide is beautiful, but it really depends on what you want to see when you are there. If you love surfing, move to Margaret River in WA. If you love the scuba, move to Cairns and work out at Green Island. If you are into natural wonders, move to Tasmania. We are using a migration agent for our visa but you can get your visa through www.liveinaustralia.com.
