Will Airbus or Boeing make way for Mitsubishi?

As you have seen early that Lokheed made way for Mcdonald Douglas and Boeing. McD made way for Boeing and Airbus. Now we see Mitsubishi coming up.

For one thing, the federal US government made way for McDonnell Douglas, Boeing (the US government helped start up Boeing), Vought, Fairchild, etc. Do you remember the 'skunkworks?' Who do you think subsidized this?

With Mitsubishi, it is a little different but the principal is the same. Mitsubishi is being encouraged by the M.I.T (Ministry of Trade).

Airbus was formed under a merger between various European defense contractors, European governments still own a significant stake.

McDonnell Douglas did not just make way for Boeing and Airbus. The US Department of Defense, in the 1990s, wanted to streamline the number of vendors. Years earlier McDonnell Douglas had tried hard to diversify it's business but the US government was prodding both Mcdonnell Douglas and Boeing to merge so it never has been about companies cedeing a market to a different company. It's far more complicated and with China, Russia (Tupolev), and India anxious to be major players it is doubtful Mitsubishi will have a big chunk of the world market, maybe certain aspects of it.
