What to do About A-Rod?
After his MVP season last year and winning MLB Player of the Month of May, Alex Rodriguez was booed after failing to get a hit in his first at-bat after his 2-run walk-off homerun in the bottom of the 12th inning on Wednesday.
Steve Phillips from ESPN commented on this, saying that A-Rod will not be able to reach his full potential with the fans jumping on his back and suggested that he be moved during the offseason.
I'm not asking whether or not A-Rod DESERVES to be treated as he is now, but do you think he can reach his full potential in pinstripes? Do you think he should be dealt before next season? Can the Yankees contend for the Division if it continues?

Some just can't play effectively on the big stage. His adjustment period to NY should be over by now. He obviously can't handle the pressure (it would've been worse had he gone to Boston). Perhaps it would be beneficial to all if he got traded to a smaller market. He's in a position where he really needs to step up and be the go to guy with all the injuries to the Yankees. Take Johnny Damon for instance, the pressure never bothered him in Boston and he comes to NY and puts up the same numbers if not better. Damon is an example of a guy that can play on the big stage. A-rod seems to overthink and let what the fans and media say get to him. The talent is definately there, he just needs to get over the mental aspect of it all. Personally, I think he needs to be traded for pitching.
Moving to 3rd is not a reason for his inconsistency. He was a gold glove contender last year. This year, he has more errors before the all star break than he had all of last season. He's been taking his hitting woes out onto the field with him, this is very unprofessional. He had a great year last season because their was no pressure for him to be "the guy". Earlier last season, Torre had to change him from cleanup to the #2 hitter to take the pressure off of him. This should've been a sign of things to come and tell us what A-rod is really made of. Also he bombed in the playoffs. Case and point, he's not good in a big spot, doesn't have the mindset and gumption for it.

ARod has reached his full potential.
Seattle, he held them back. He leaves and the team sets a single season victory record.
Texas - He leaves and the team improves and challenges for the division lead until late in the season.
NYY - He arrives and the sox beat the yanks & win the 2004 WS.
2005 - the yanks lose to LAA?????
2006 - he hits .174 late w/risp and the game close!
Yankee fans should not only boo, they should throw eggs. He makes twice as much as the entire Marlins team!

Ted Williams lived with it. If Alex Rodriguez is worthy of his talent, he will accept the criticism and move on. He knew what he was getting into when he went to New York. And he is already a hated man in Seattle and elsewhere.
He won't be traded. The few teams that want him can't afford his salary, and the ones who are desperate enough to scrape up the money are almost certainly on his veto list.

The yankee fans are idiots a-rod puts up very good numbers and hes still adjusting to playing a new position lets not forget hes was a gold glove winner at shortstop lets see how well jeter would have adjusted if he went to third base.

It would be crushingly hard to work under that kind of pressure. That being said, it is a monster of his own making. He thinks he's God's gift to baseball but he doesn't always earn it.
Yankee fans don't seem to be too tolerant of failure, so maybe it is time for Rodriguez to move on and be the "savior" of some other team.

Two things: The boos are a direct result of the $252,000,000 contact and he is not, I repeat, not a money player. He has great stats and will one day be in the hall of fame but with the money on the line I'd rather have Jeter!!

The yankees should keep him.
Let the yankees stew in thier own juices.
In case you havent noticed, the yankees are NOT the only team in MLB.
And, btw, a-rod came from Texas---not Seattle (as someone else stated).

A-Rod is the master of the inconsequential HR, He rarely gets a big hit especially in the playoffs.

if you compare his stats to other 3rd basemen in the AL, he's in the top 5or 3. which means he's doin what a 12 million a year player does.
so imagine what a 22 or what ever he makes would do!
i beleive he should stay put, but cut his salary
