Some of our snakes names are .... Zion, Bubba, Butter, Ashen, Hitler, Spawn, Orion, Becca, Lars,Casper, Butch, Patches, Shelby, Syn,Anton,Widow, Cleo,Regan,Becca,Back-up,
Valdosta,Banana,Betty, Sunshine,Stella,Dynamite , Bombshell
Some are named because of their color, attitude or just characteristics. Have your son watch the snake for a few days and maybe something about the way the snake acts or looks will help him.
Good Luck!
Just saw your update about the snake not eating.... ball pythons are picky eaters and some go months without eating. Make sure the cage is warm enough, the snake has a hide big enough that that he can fit fully into so he feels secure. Also be sure the food item isn't too large or too small. Most small ball pythons can take a small to medium mouse. If the snake is very small try a hopper mouse.
You also want to make sure the snake has had ample time to settle in. Leave the snake completely alone in the cage( no handling or trying to feed at all!! ) for at least 7 days. After 7 days try and offer the snake a meal. Offer an appropriate size mouse.
If you are feeding live, leave the mouse in the cage for NO MORE than 15 minutes (or the snake could become the snack). If it doesn't eat in 15 minutes remove the mouse and do not try feeding again for 4-5 days. Offering food daily will only stress out your snake more causing him not to eat. If you are feeding frozen/thawed you can drop the food in and leave it for a few hours then remove and discard and try again in a few days.
Hope this helps.
