Adobe PDF display in portrait mode?

I need to display a pdf document but when i open it it displays in landscape format i can then change it under the view menu to display it counter clockwise but i cant seem to save the image in portrait mode

Please help

I have Acrobat standard

Update 2:

I can change the view when the pdf is open and i even re save it but as soon as i close it and open it again it reverts back to landscape mode..

    Sounds like when the PDF was created it was created in landscape mode. Go to Document > Pages > Rotate. You can then rotate the pages to the correct orientation and save the file that way. (I believe this feature is in Standard)

    If you go to File > Document Properties and click on initial view you do have some control over how it is viewed also (however landscape vs. portrait is not included here).
