Yahoo Answers is shutting down on May 4th, 2021 (Eastern Time) and the Yahoo Answers website is now in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account. You can find more information about the Yahoo Answers shutdown and how to download your data on this help page.

Why isn't there a seperate Answers section for people 16 years of age or older?

Update:

Who would enforce it? Yahoo, of course. When you enter the information in your profile, just enter your birthday. There would be a few who would lie about their age, but most people wouldn't, and the ratio of intelligent posts to stupid ones would go way up.

Update 2:

To make it really secure, Yahoo could require credit card information. Not many 15 year olds have credit cards in their own names....

Update 3:

Okay, make it 18 and older.

It would eliminate that most idiotic of questions--"Isn't my avatar HOT?". God, I HATE reading that over & over & over!

ppl would just lie about thier age anyway, but yeah, that would separate the good questions from the little kids who get on this and answer stupid answers, but then again, there's kids who need the advice of people who are older and have already gone through the same things so that they can give the asker advice on what to do, plus some older people are really really ignorant and idiotic and some kids are mature and smart

If you have a high IQ why don't you ask intelligent question instead of stupid question like this, besides some one might learn from those 16years old how it was to be young once!I'm over sixty and i like to find out how the younger ones think, you should be glad they are asking stupid questions on here.

thats a good idea but how could you keep the kids under 16 out of the adult section? Its not difficult to give a wrong age on the net.

While a good idea in principle, the practicalities of the internet in general and Yahoo! in particular make this pretty much impossible.

cuz some kids younger than 16 are much more intelligent then ppl over 16- plus sometimes kids need advice from adults or ppl more experienced, and ppl can also learn a lot from children

Good Idea! Also yesterday I spent the day watching Father Ted 3rd series, never saw it before and love it now.

Because most people under that age will just lie and say they are older.

i do agree with u. it would be nice if there is a separate section for indecent questions also. sometimes i feel bad to open yahoo answers in front of my friends because of certain questions.some questions are so silly & very emberassing.

I think it should be 18 and up. Then have a separate one for the 17yr olds and below.
