Where should I go to find box turtles?
I live in Virginia and I've looked EVETYWHERE for baby box turtles in their natural habitat (or any box turtles for that matter), and can't find one. All I've ever found is part of a shell. Anybody know where to go or how to look? I'd LOVE to see baby boxies in their natural habitat!
No I would not take them outta the wild and I meant like outside wild turtles

i worked in virginia for a long time.i trimmed trees along power lines and roads.we used to catch hundreds of them a week .we looked for them near roadways and clearings in tall grass, or low laying underbrush.we used to find them in those areas alot during the hottest hours of the day.

To keep or to observe in their natural habitat? For the love of God, please don't take them out of their natural habitat or you will be verbally attacked by some crazy tree-hugging co-worker that doesn't know what he's talking about! I rescued one from the road (we live in the country) and it literally made him mad. You can find them at a pet store or Petsmart or somewhere equivalent.

nicely, from my reports, i'd in my opinion say... NEITHER. I went by skill of this turtle level even as i actually needed one. So my mom took me to a reptile puppy save. those turtles smell so disgusting and uncleanly that I almost threw up. i determined after that to not get a turtle. also, container turtles will attempt to snap at you once you in simple terms attain your hand in to get their nutrition dish to feed them. Water turtles like the Musk is likewise a soreness to look after and extremely expensive to save as a puppy properly. I propose you perform slightly extra study and see what you imagine!!! :) good success!!! i am hoping you already understand what a huge dedication this may be in case you choose to bypass by skill of with it.

I had a box turtle, she was really fun, but alot of work. I just let her go actually, and was observing her. I think they like dark places. She buried herself alot....I let her go in my backyard. Now she has disappeared. Dark Places, Near a Water Source, I know they aren't water turtles, but I heard they do like minnows when they are younger. Good Luck!
