Parental rights vs grandparents rights?
If an unmarried drug addict 19 year old daughter gives up her daughter at age 8 months (legally and permanently) to the 20 year old father, does the grandmother/grandfather also lose all rights?

It all depends on what state you live in. In most states, the grandparents do lose their rights when the daughter abandons her parental rights. I am a grandfather also trying to keep my grandaughter a part of my life. You really should seek the advice of a family attorney. Good luck!
