Ford 400m to 460 starter interchange?

I have swapped in a 460 in place of the 400 modified in my 78 Bronco. The swap is nearly complete but I need to lmow if the starter from the 400 will work with the 460. Please do not answer if you are not positive. I do not want to tear up the flexplate becasue of a guess.

    The part numbers for 400M and 460 starters are the same at Powermaster's website:

    Hey,

    I remember long ago a friend of mine tried just what your doing.

    I believe the started did not fit. But don't take my word for it. I just could`nt live with myself if I didn't say something.
