It is said that management will become more of science and less of an art. Do you agree?

It is a science. Success is determined by following through with sound, plans and techniques. But there is still the question of finding and or creating opprotunity to act upon in the first place. There are a lot of MBA's out there working at Wendy's.

Management has always been and always will be equal parts science and art... Because part of management is basic human psychology (which is a science) but the other part are your personal human relation skills- how you act/ speak around different types of people- which is deffinately an art...

management is all about numbers, quotas or sales goals. whoever can reach them consistently is deemed manager worthy. simply bcuz they are able to perform well does not necessarily mean they are fit to lead. I'd say about 90% of managers or supervisors out there are not fit to lead anyone but themselves. it's more about doing rather than insipiring. managers like this will hire people who can follow the plan and achieve the goals. if they can't, it's something wrong with the employee, not how they are lead or managed,. it's all their fault. managers look at the individual numbers, not the individual

It will always be a mix. There is always an art to dealing with people and correctly dealing with business is science. Because people are fluid and situations (production) tend to be more staid, you will always have to adapt to people more readily.
