Why do New York Yankee haters all have the same whiney, pathetic, nasty tone?
How can anyone argue with facts? The yankees are the most successful sports team in history. Not the most successful baseball team, most successful sports team...in history. All you naysayers sound so jealous and pathetic and hateful. You mistake pride, confidence, and loyalty, for arrogance and superiority. You are all pathetic. YOU CANNOT ARGUE WITH FACTS AND HISTORY. Oh yeah, I forgot to add...RUTH, GHERIG, DIMAGGIO, MANTLE, MARIS, MATTINGLY...need I say more?
Thanks for proving my point. And the thing about my head inflating is right in line with the attitude of Yankee haters. You didn't disappoint. I didn't state anything in my question that wasn't fact. I don't care who your favorite team is, you can't argue with history. If someone were to tell you Ted Williams was overrated or Yastrzemski wasn't as good as everyone made him out to be, then what would be the Red Sox fan's response???? Exactly, you'd be ridiculous to even say it. So why all the anger when I point out all the Yankee greats? If it's not jealousy, then what is it? Because I need to know. Clear it up for me so I can stop looking at these fans like they are jealous. I would love for someone to give me a valid reason for the hate.

I used to be a Yankee fan. I understand pride, confidence and loyalty. Part of Yankee history is that upper management does not always reward that, and I am not talking about George Steinbrenner, either. Hold a seance and ask Casey Stengel. You could look it up.
The success of the Yankees is a fact. Many fans hate the Yankees for that success but take nothing away from the players, greater and lesser, who brought them that success. When Lou Gehrig said that he was the luckiest man on the face of the earth, he was right, and true baseball fans understand this.
Jealousy? Why not? Steinbrenner wasn't the first owner to try to buy a pennant, and the Red Sox weren't the last victims of an owner who preferred money to winning - in the Maris era, the Kansas City Athletics were practically a Yankee farm team (Maris himself came from there).
George Steinbrenner does not care about pride, confidence and loyalty. He has bought his team, and in his arrogance, all he cares about is superiority. And he isn't getting it because he has perverted the game. Take the Mariners. In 2001 they won 116 games. Who is left from that team? Ichiro and a couple of pitchers. That's it. There were some retirements, but it's been trade, trade, trade and salary shuffling. This despire a decent farm system. (And the Mariners had already lost Ken Griffey Jr., Randy Johnson and Alex Rodriguez, mainly to free agency arrogance.) Because of Steinbrenner, and while he is not the only culprit he is the most prominent one, there isn't really anything you can call a baseball team any more. It's just a collection of salaries without loyalties (and with only a few exceptions), and Alex Rodriguez is the poster boy for this disease.
Do the owners care about fan loyalty? Not particularly, not as long as we keep pushing through their turnstiles after buying overpriced tickets and plunking money down for overpriced concessions (excessive player salaries are a factor here, too). Again, there are exceptions here and there, but George Steinbrenner is not one of them.
I will hate the Yankees as long as George Steinbrenner remains their owner.
