Why are the ARMY commercials so rediculous??
I thought they're supposed to make you want to join, not make you want to laugh at it. I mean, especially the one where the dad's like it's the army and the boy's like it's the reserve....you know what I'm talking about. We know they can't be that low budget. Just curious if others feel the same way...

I think it's a ploy to get all the 18-20 year olds that don't know what to do, or how to do it. So they make it seem like it's so easy, and it saves your parents from having to pay for your college etc. What a load of crap! They should show one of the military hospitals over there, with guys who have one leg, and half their head is blown off, and they're called "lucky", cause the guy beside him didn't make it!
The commercials make it seem like you have so much to gain if you join the army etc. Yeah, if you make it home to enjoy that great college education, if not, your mom gets a flag, and a pine box that she sincerely hopes has your remains in it.
Hey, let's make it honest, show a count of how many troops we've lost, and then ask them," do you wanna be next, if so please sign here!"
I can not believe we voted him in another 4 flippin' years! I'd like to think he couldn't do any worse than what he has, guess we'll see what's left of our country when he's done.

If they advertised for soldiers by showing you dead, bloody, dismembered bodies, and said "come do this work" - no one would sign up now, would they? So the emphasize manliness, toys , and duty instead. After the young men sign up, they realize how clueless they were when they see blood and dismembered limbs. And this is something that NO ONE at that age should EVER have to see for any reason.
