    Yes.

They all come from the discovery of the universal truths of the innate nature of the inner Self. This is the basis of all religions.

However, historically they each have developed at different times due to the nature of the different perspectives that each has.

Hinduism is, technically, the oldest religion in the world. Buddhism merged out of Hinduism around the same time as Jainism. Christianity emerged much later out of Judaism.

Religions that have emerged from Hinduism are:

Zoroastrianism (Zoroaster is even mentioned in the Hindu Vedas)

    Buddhism

    Jainism

    Sikhism

    Ayyavazhi

Religions that have emerged from Judaism are:

    Christianity

    Islam

    Baha'i

  • Buddhism came out of Hinduism.

Hinduism originated around the same time that Judaism originated. Two of the oldest belief systems. Hinduism originated in the Central Asian plains by the nomadic groups called Aryans. They brought their belief system with them as they moved into the Gangetic Plains of Inida and spread throughout India. The original inhabitants called Dravidians were pushed out and to the South. They had their own belief systems and Gods. The Aryans mixed with them and the whole system came into being. The Vedas and the Upanishads are some of the ancient books. There were many invasions into India due to its richness and fertile lands. The invaders mixed with the locals and new ideas and practices came into being.

Christianity came from Judaism...the religion and culture of the Jews.

Though the religions evolved seperately, there were connections and shared ideas.

If you believe in the unity of the whole universe or if you believe monotheism then they all boil down to the same source.Because if you think that way,all is one.

But I think christianity and buddhism are more close to each other while hinduism stands apart.

No. Buddhism grew out of Hindu lifestyle, yet they are actually not the same. EDIT--And there are gods in Buddhism. Canonical texts are complete of them. We do purely no longer renowned them as splendid beings.

It depends on who you ask. And even if they came from the same source they have deviated so much that none can really be considered related. The theologies are now very different.

They do not come from one source and diverge, but come from different times and places and (potentially) converge.

The point of convergence is called "truth".

Esoteric Christian "Godhead" = Vedantic Hindu "Brahman" = Buddhist "Emptiness"

"If I spent enough time with the tiniest creature

    Even a caterpillar –

I would never have to prepare a sermon.

    So full of God

    Is every creature."

    --Johannes "Meister" Eckhardt

    "Tat Tvam Asi"

    --Chandyoga Upanishad

"Show me your original face before you were born"

    --Buddhist koan

No. Christianity comes from the curse of Abraham, where the evil Judaism and Islam regurgitated from.

I think they may originate from the same concept of a Supreme Being and moral law.
