Am trying to burn a dvd from a .dat file using nero but unable to burn as i get invalid compilation.Help me?

I get the error invalid compilation. Can i burn a .dat file? or is there any way to convert a .dat file to any burn format? Am not too good with computers.

    If I'm not mistaken .dat video file is basically an mpeg1 file for vcds.

    I never tried converting .dat files to dvd before but just in case I would try to rename the file .avi and see if it works.

    If it doesn't, you may have to convert the .dat file to .avi or .mpg the let nero do the rest.

    You are not burning the right file. To burn, usually look for an "iso" file or an "mds/mdf" file.

    The best way to check, is to look for the file that is huge in size. (So if you are burning a DVD, look for the file that is around 4 GB large... that is the one that contains the data). The other files are misc. junk.

    sorry you can't do it. the dat file is a compressed file that is part and parcel of the vcd process you should look for hidden or missing files

    You should convert the file to mpg, goto www.download.com there are many file converters
