If you have a cheap stick cellphone- without a SIM card but with a slot for one, is their any way to transfer?

have a nokia, slot for sim but provider information built in. Want to take it and contact information to another phone- but dont want to bother with my wirless provider company. Any way to transfer information onto a sim card to be placed in another phone?
