    A switch is a switch. The range of load impedances which an amplifier can safely drive has no influence whatsoever on the choice of switch.

    Using the wrong type of switch can mess up the sound quality and also draw to much from your amp. Most systems operate on 8 ohms. Check your amp output for the ohms and buy the switch designed for that application.

    Yes you can, you could uses a light switch if you wanted to.

    JUST REMEMBER if you turn the speakers off and you turn up the volume

    with something playing you can fry your amplifier.....

    Radio interference. frequently GPS gadgets are shielded antagonistic to such glaring issues, yet this can ensue if the signal is fairly weak and the radio interference (simply by achievable defective wiring) is fairly strong. I advice...getting your living house regarded at by employing a technician or moving your GPS...why do you want GPS in a house besides?

    yeah, no problems with that,your not going to put anything close to the loads of a lightbulb or something like that to a speaker

    Yes, you could probably by a microswitch or something nicer, but if you want to use a regular switch, go for it.
