Who here thinks the PK converted by Zidane was awarded?
The French are making several excuses and accusations (saying there was a racial slur) where there was none. And they are also saying they deserved the cup and the ref stole it. But do you guys think the PK awarded early in the game was well deserved? Just your thoughts, no reason for insults. If you think it is great and if you dont think so that is great too.

No, but they got fouled in the penalty area later in the half but were not awarded a PK, so in a sense the earlier PK covered for the later foul. And besides, you don't know if there was a racial slur until someone (ie. Zidane) comments. Not that the last 10 minutes would have made a difference in my opinion. So the ref didn't steal France's cup, but I think France deserved to win because they were the better team for most of the game.

Well.. I thought Henry dove but it's really hard for a ref to see that especially since the play happened so fast and Henry sold it so well. People dont understand that it's hard to be a professional referee and that they are human. It's even harder when FIFA contradicts every little thing that they tell the refs to do when they give their statements to the media. I thought it wasnt deserved after a closer look but at first I thought it was a PK.

I agree with Brett. I think the first penalty shouldn't have been given but the ref did miss one later on in the game. Which I guess evened things out and made it fair.

No, it was definately a dive. Later in the game, the ref missed a penalty in the box for France so they canceled each other out.
