A holiday worth celebrating, and I wish more UN member governments would establish Oct. 24 as a paid holiday to observe the occasion ;)

The UN has been a tool of murderers and oppressors since its inception. The US has guaranteed world peace in the last 60 yrs , not the wannbe world government of the UN

no. for my money get the U.S. OUT of the U.N.- let the socialist *ssh*les find some other bunch of suckers to try and screw.

and I am entirely willing to be at peace with anyone- but I won't trade being a slave to get to the goal- liberty first, then peace.

Yeah, if it wasn't all made such a big deal of because alot of people don't really "like" eachother when a bunch of people "over there" tell them to. But if it was nonchalant, like fourth of July is these days, an excuse to party, then I'd go.

It's a nice thought, but think about it, love: with human nature the way it is, is a lasting and durable peace really a possibility on this earth? It's sad but true, I'm afraid.

The problem is that those who don't understand that people are different don't understand that different people have always fought.

Also, look at gnomes' response. People in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks.

Sadly, no. Too many people ridicule differences instead of embracing them.

It would be nice, but knowing people, not many will do it.
