For a formal/professional business letter, how do you attach pages in an envelope?

I am writing a formal letter in full block format, and I was wondering how you insert the two pages into an envelope - do you staple them? Do you fold them seperately and insert them one behind another? Do you fold them together? Thank you!

    Hi Ladybug,

Good question. Aways fold together, and never staple or paperclip.

you fold them together or you buy a manilla envelope and insert them together in numerical order. but you never staple a formal letter . type page 1 of 2 , 2 of 2 and if you have anything such as a picture, you type enclosure (enc) at the bottom of page so that they know there is suppose to be something besides the letter pages.
