The sun shield for my car has a reflective silver side and a white side. Which side faces out and why?

The silver foilized side is better since it is more reflective. Even though white is the reflection of all colors, it does not reflect UV rays as well as silver would. Use the white side on colder days to protect the vinyl and plastic of your dash panel, but not keep the car from heating.

With most modern cars, the plastics will not fade, but with an older or classic car, this would be an issue.

Silver side out to reflect the sun; white side in to keep the inside cooler.

The reflective side because it would reflect the sun/heat.

The silver side always deflects the heat.
