Duncan is a power forward by natural position. He sometimes plays center, but is known as a power forward. Plus, Shaq is the best center in the NBA. Him in a game changes everything. He changes the pace, he knows how to manage distribution of the ball, and his presence is huge (literally and figuratively) on the defensive end.

Assuming you meant Duncan as a Center versus Shaq, you have to give it to Shaq as the more dominant of the two, but I would choose Duncan for the longetivity and team spirit.

For all the people who don't know Tim does play center now and it is his natural position. He didn't play it back in the game because David Robinson was there. Tim is 7'1" 265 but he plays like a power forward. Tim isn't as strong as Shaq, but he's a much better player. I think this isn't even a fair comparison. Shaq can be guarded, but there's no way you can contain Tim. Look at every time they played head up, Tim made Shaq look like a fool. Shaq can post him up,but if he doesn't get in the lane it's a 20/80 chance he'll make it.
