Installed Linksys wireless...won't work?

I went through the installation cd for linksys but when I try and connect, it says no wireless signal within range. I could tap into my neighbors before so I know my computer is ready. Any help?

You should still be able to see your neighbor's access point, even if yours isn't working.

You may have to reboot. If you installed 3rd party software to control the wireless network card it can screw up the card.

You don't need 3rd party software with windows XP:

You can try going to properties of the network card in 'control panel' and choose 'Use windows to configure my wireless network settings' then click 'view wireless networks' to see the available networks.

Don't forget to set up security, or your neighbor might be stealing your internet connection, which is technically illegal.

I had one before and took it back to wal-mart because it kept losing the signal and randomly saying there was no wireless network...

    maybe try a different one...

one thing try to keep the thing that picks up the net from the router at the same heigth

you could also get a signal booster.

Fetch it, and setting up would be a breeze - 15 minutes, max! as quickly as you unplug each little thing, then load the CD and persist with on-demonstrate screen instructions, pop, yer up. additionally, the Linksys help human beings are friendly, affected person, powerful. you may anticipate them. before you call, examine that little tiny serial variety on the backside of the router and function it handy.

Do you have a router? And is your D-link compatible with it?
