How can a woman leaves their new born babys on the side of the road or on the door steps to avoid blames?

These are desperate women. They have no idea whether they can feed and dress a child for years or are simply too young when they have given birth. Many of them became pregant without wanting to, got raped or their boyfriend disappeared after he found out that he will be a father soon.

There are so many reasons why a woman is doing this.

On the other hand many of these desperate women want that their babies will be found and leave them on the doorstep next to a church or hospital.

I think the best would be to give such a baby into hands of parents who will adopt it.

Many hospitals have a policy where a woman can bring a baby in and give it to anybody who works there and give the baby up no questions asked (though it's best to answer some questions on medical history for the baby's sake). If a woman really wants to give up a baby this is far better than abandoning on the side of the road. That's just horrible.

these type of cases are happening only in lower classes of india, now a days. those days are gone, when they would leave their new born infants in the garbage can, or somebody's door step, as shown in movies! there are shelter homes where an unmarried, young pregnant girl, or even a middle age widow, can take temporary shelter, till the baby is born. there after, she has to sign a legal document, giving the rights and the custody of the baby, to the sheltering organisation. they would then give the baby in adoption, to childless couples, even foreigners. also, the municipal maternity hospital, on a busy street of mumbai, has a cradle, where the mother leave their new-born babies, and the police hand them over to the orphanages. the saddest part is, since the mothers are under tension of society's stigma, their health neglected during pregnancy, 90 percent of the babies die within first month of their birth, due to low weight, lack of immunity, and incomplete growth. yes, there are a stray cases of the type you mention, those women come mainly from the slums!

She's probably trying to get the best for the baby. I'd like to think that she loves the baby a little or else she wouldn't have gone thru with the pregnancy in the first place.

If I thought that I could not provide proper care for my kids, but I knew someone who would be willing to give them what they need, then yes I would probably do the same thing.

The same way a woman can kill her unborn baby. Sickness and irresponsibilty.

your right to ask ..how could anyone ...well they couldn't ..if they were in their right mind ...these things are a form of post natal depression...it's a rare form ...it does not happen everyone ..but it does happen ...so don't judge people like that ...it could happen to someone you know
