No, there is not a vaccine currently available. Contrary to what an uneducated person stated, a VACCINE is not being made right now. Research is being conducted so that when Bird flu does strike, a vaccine can be made and distributed quickly. You see, the strain right now (H5N1) will not be the same strain that hits the US. It will have mutated several times. Also, it is good to prepare for this by stocking up on canned goods, medicines, etc.
The media is not making a bigger deal of the bird flu than it is at all. I am a RN and PHC (Public Health Coordinator)

There is a vaccine in production as we speak. However there isn't enough made as of yet. However bird flu ISN'T EASY to spread from person to person. Unless someone you have daily contact with like family coworker etc has it. It lies too deep in the lungs to be transmitted like the common flu. Now if you work in the Poultry business be aware. It does have a HIGHER mortality rate than the common flu thou.

I'm not afraid. I hate chicken and only eat turkey twice a year. A vaccine is not available but not entirely impossible to create with research being done to create one.

I'm not really scared. My mom is like getting canned food and stuff like that. The problem is, we keep eating the raviolli. =). No vaccines. I don't think it will be AS bad as everyone thinks it will be. Look at West Nile, people thought billions upon billions of people would die. But they didn't!!

No vaccine, just cook your chicken well. Use a thermometer while cooking to make sure the chicken is cooked to the right temp.
