ATE and Mintex are the pads that BMW dealers in the UK tend to fit. I have always found ATE pads and disks to be more than adequate on my e39 523i and I never found them a problem when I had an e34 either. Other makes you may want to take a look at are Pagid, Textar, EBC and Guttman.

    Hawk Brake Pads.

Just put a set on my g35 sport coupe with some cross drilled and slotted rotors. They stop on a dime.

The factory brembos put off waaaay too much brake dust.

I personally I have all brembo brake products, rotors, caliper and I have AXXIS ultimate brake pads! they are ceramic and one of the best I think! I have cross drilled rotors and 4 piston calipers! they are by far the best brake system ever!

if you look at the break calliper you will find the ATE name on it also on the oil break container

acctually ATE company does all the BMW break system

so I think it is the best to use

I personally find Bendix brakes to be the best. OEM brake pads would also probably work really well.

try tirerack.com, they have large section. But price may bite higher. Just get the information and shop with some place cheaper.
