Proactive works well. If you are on a budget; the Porefection or Clear Skin from Avon works as effectively but costs less. You should look into your food intake as well. Soda, sugar, and junk food contribute to acne. Drink plenty of water to flush out the toxins.

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.

For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.

Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

Your best treatment for acne is to find a skin care routine and stick to it.

I have had very good luck with Clinique's Acne Solutions line in conjunction with their 3-Step. I had a typical teenage "pizza face" and now I don't even break out once a month.

It is crucial if you wear makeup or a bonding sunscreen to use a cleanser that is made to dissolve makeup...ie..Acne Solutions Cleansing Foam....Next a soap to actually clean the skin...Acne Solutions Anti-bacterial soap.....etc...

There are several products in the line that are available. It all depends on if your breakout is whiteheads, blackheads, or pimples.

Your best bet would be to make an appointment at your local counter and they can recommend which products you need based upon the level and type of acne you are experiencing. The consultant might need to observe and touch your face and will have a few questions...it might take around 15 minutes, but is well worth it.

    Hope this helps.....Good Luck!

If you have tried many OTC products and nothing works, go see a dermatologist. Nothing over the counter ever worked well for me, but everyone is different. Even at the dermatologist nothing helped for longer than 2 months, and I eventually had to do accutane. It worked wonders! But the acne came back and I'm taking accutane again, I'm hopeful it will work like magic like it did the first time, and this time keep it away for good!
