Why are people against gay marriage?
Some people say it destroys the sanctity of marriage, but hasn't divorce and adultery already done that?
Others state it is a sin, but the Bible has only four implied admonishments against homosexuality and over 350 admonishments against heterosexuality. If marriage is a sin, then in theory the gay couple just has to find "God" and ask for forgiveness for their sins to get into heaven.
Then there is the argument that gays should have the rights of a married couple, but does not violate equal rights and the separation of church and state?
I would like to know as many arguments against gay marriage as

When one considers how many religions there are in the world, many of which have many gods (cf. Greek, Roman myths, the 800 myriad-read infinite, as 8 is a sacred number-gods of Japanese mythology, etc., etc.) it appears to me that the sanctity of marriage is culture oriented, rather than a Christian absolutism. Since, under the constitution, we have the right to worship as we see fit, one size does not necessarily fit all. Personally, who marries whom is, I firmly believe, none of my business whatsoever.

I am gay and could be married (i'm Canadian--in a 19 year relationship)...but after having looked at what a joke the straight community has made out of the "institution of marriage"...I certainly would have 2nd 3rd and 4th thoughts about it....I'm not getting divorced or fighting over material things or having extramarital affairs or any of the wonderful things that straight men are so good at...why would I want to be like that?
And just FYI I don't believe in the bible and I don't care what the state says.

Any 'christians' who campaign against gay marriage, and therefore equality, justice, and tolerance, are at least hypocritical and at worst hate-mongering bigots. I don't know how they can call themselves 'christians' when these actions go against all their teachings. WWJD?
Our country was founded on the separation of church and state. Marriage rights such as taxation, inheritance and adoption are given by the state. Religion should have absolutely no say in the matter.

Here is one you dont hear often, and that I believe completely....
Because there should be seperation of church and state. Period.
Why should married people all the benifits just because they said "I do"? (taxes, etc.)
So to answer your question.....I believe that NO MARRIAGE should be recognized by the state, be it gay or straight.
