What do you think about Yahoo! Answers and their point/level system?
I admit to being amused and wasting plenty of time at work while surfing around Yahoo! Answers, but what's up with the points and levels. Does that fulfill some need to bloat our egos through pointless (haha) competition?

That's it. It's a lil' like a crossword puzzle with no wrong answers.
It gives people a chance to be an expert ... for some it's their first chance for many others their last.

I've only tried this today but my first impression of the points/level thing is kinda like a bad game show where the answers have to be put in question form.

I haven't really figured the stuff out yet (:P) so I don't know what's going on with points, and why sometimes the points are different than at other times...just didn't have the time to read the Q&A.
I'm doing this because I love reading other people's answers and points of view.
