What happen to a question when the asker (more)?

What happen to a question when the asker does not choose best answer, or put the question to a vote?

This question will be put to a vote

Update:

I see questions 4 to 5 weeks open, have they been extended?

or

If they go to a auto vote, or auto delete, what is the time period before that happens?

    It automatically get's put up for vote after a few days.. If no one votes.. The question gets deleted.

    After a week it will automaticly be put to a vote unless you extend the question. I don't know how many times that you can extend it.

    yahoo puts it to a vote to the public for you!and the answer that gets the most voted wins best answer!
