There are many ways to get someones password. One of the better known ways is something called phishing. That is where someone sends you a fake email that looks official, and it directs you to a page that looks like a real yahoo page (or ebay page...whatever... )with the logos, everything. It will look exactly like an official page...but ask you to sign in with your password. if you have ever tried to sign in to one of those bogus links, someone got your password by phishing. There are other ways. its not relevant. Just be careful of those types of emails in the future.

click on the lost password link and hope they will send it to your original email.

but it might not help. depends on if the person who hijacked your account went into your account info and changed your personal info or not.

first of all no one can change ur passwords bcoz...

1. he shld know ur Birthdate,Pincode,SecurityQue,etc

2. cannot change ur alternate id once u have done it while registering

3. if anyone did know all the information in 1. u still should have recieved the email in ur alternate id inbox/junkmail

So its definitely ur mistake n still if u think ur not getting through...

stop thinking about the account n create a new one...

U can try the forgot Password link...

enter all the info correctly n Yahoo will provide u with a auto-generated password which u can change...

I went thru this last year.

It takes about 24 hours for customer care to get back to you and when you explain that someone stole your account and changed everything you need to provide them with all the information you gave when you first signed up for the account. Then they will walk you thru the steps to get your account back. The hacker can change all of the information you have except for the security question. Yahoo keeps everything from the very first registration.

click on forgotten password, it will give you a new password
