Can anyone tell me about the cupa cupa cupa recipe from the south? Its typically used for cobblers?

My grandmother used this recipe she called it "cupa cupa cupa" but she cheated and used 2 cups of sugar? is it 1 cup of flour 1 cup of milk and 1 cup of sugar???? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!! PS Any suggestions on where to get oldfashioned recipes such as this one? My grandmother passed away when I was young and didnt have them written down anywhere. Thanks!

    That is what i use!

    1 cup of Flour

    1 cup Sugar

    1 cup milk

2 cups fresh fruit (sprinkle with some sugar)

    1/2 stick margarine.

melt margarine in bottom of baking dish, add fruit, mix other ingredients and pour over fruit, bake a 350 for 30 minutes or until brown on top.

as far as other old fashion recipes. lots of times, churches or other organizations will sell cookbooks as fund raisers, those are the best!

    CUPPA-CUPPA PEACH COBBLER

    1 stick unsalted butter

2 to 4 c. peeled and sliced peaches, with juice

    1 c. sugar

    2 t. baking powder

    1 c. all purpose flour

    1 c. milk

Put butter in (2 quart) casserole dish. Place in cold oven and pre-heat to 350°. If peaches are not juicy, sprinkle with sugar and set aside. Sift remaining sugar, baking powder and flour into mixing bowl. Add milk and mix until well blended. When butter has melted and oven has reached 350°, pour batter evenly into the casserole dish. Add the peaches and their juice, distributing evenly, but keeping an outer edge of batter (about an inch). Return to the oven and bake for an hour or until top is golden brown.

    (serves 4 to 8)
