What are you supose to do when a person ask a question they don't want to know the true answer to it ?
On Yahoo answers I have answered questions the best I know how. I always tell the truth on what I think they should know. But it seems some of them only want the answer they want to hear. I been called rude and lots of other things. Why ask if you do not want to know the trueest answer I can give . In what I think you should do .

Some people just want to hear their own thoughts echoed. They choose to have a closed mind and not really listen to other sides of things or another way to look at things. They have their minds set before they even ask, they just want to see if anyone agrees with them or not. You could give THE best advice, and if it isn't what they want to hear, they put you down. It's a shame, but there is nothing you can do about it. They will also be the ones making the same mistakes over and over again.

People need to learn not to ask unless they really want the answer, seems a huge factor in problems with marriages too.
I know my ex hated hearing the truth. If someone wants the warm and fuzzies and to be lied to, then they should state that before asking the question. HOWEVER, you can be nice or tactful, you can be honest without being rude or abrupt. Compassion shows through on any level so maybe work on that!

I agree with you. I don't sugarcoat my answers on here, I just tell the truth about how I think about things. I too have been told I'm rude occasionally. Sometimes I've even received best answer just so they could blast me for what I wrote to them.
Just take it with a grain of salt. If they ask the question, they need to accept the answers they receive. Most of the people on here are extremely immature and I suspect most of the questions are made up anyway. Thank God for the pts.!!!

telling and receiving the truth have really gone out of style haven't they. i lost a supposed friend for telling her maybe being drunk and chasing men when she has two small children who need her was wrong. She did what she wanted and got arrested, two years in jail and her youngest son is working on being the next big bad serial killer as he hates all women because of his mother. So yeah sometimes you have to say wtf throw your hands in the air and get the hell away from people like that. On here i believe it's because most of the question askers are teens or older people who mentally never grew up.

They don't need to ask the questions if the don't won't to hear the answers, no matter what the answer may be. Stay truthful when you answer the questions.
