What do you think about this boy name?

First name :: Nathan

Middle name :: John Paul

Last name:: not optional :)

We are thinking Nathan after the prophet in the Old Testiment. Nathan means (I think) God gives.

Our two living grandfathers are named john and paul, so we thought we might combine the two into a single name. Only coincidentally the same as the late pope.

We've also thought about only using John or Paul, which would you choose? What do you think sounds the best? Thank you for constructive input!

    I love your chosen name!!!! Here're all of informations about that name just for you from me...

    NATHAN

    Gender: Masculine

    Usage: English, Biblical

    Other Scripts: נָתָן (Hebrew)

    Pronounced: NAY-than [key]

    Means "giver" in Hebrew. In the Old Testament this is the name of a prophet and also a son of King David. This name can also function as a short form of JONATHAN or NATHANAEL.

    JOHN

    Gender: Masculine

    Usage: English, Biblical

    Pronounced: JAHN [key]

    English form of Iohannes, which was the Latin form of the Greek name Ιωαννης (Ioannes), itself derived from the Hebrew name יוֹחָנָן (Yochanan) meaning "YAHWEH is gracious". This name owes its consistent popularity to two New Testament characters, both highly revered as saints. The first was John the Baptist, the forerunner of Jesus Christ and a victim of beheading by Herod Antipas. The second was the apostle John, also supposedly the author of the fourth Gospel and Revelation. The name has been borne by 23 popes, as well as kings of England, Hungary, Poland, Portugal and France. It was also borne by the poet John Milton and the philosopher John Locke.

    PAUL

    Gender: Masculine

    Usage: English, French, German, Romanian, Biblical

    Pronounced: PAWL, POL (French) [key]

    From the Roman family name Paulus, which meant "small" or "humble" in Latin. Saint Paul was an important leader of the early Christian church, his story told in Acts in the New Testament. He was originally named Saul, but changed his name after converting to Christianity. Most of the epistles in the New Testament were authored by him. This was also the name of six popes. Famous bearers of this name in the art world include Paul Cezanne and Paul Gauguin, both 19th-century impressionist painters from France.

    Finally, hopefully I can help you and happy choosing!!!!

    Take care,

    Dee

    You can always try John Nathan Paul or Paul John Nathan. If you had to choose though, I've always liked the name, "John".

    all names sound good...altho I don't know about the non-optional last name, but if you are lord of Armenia.... :-)

    ( Is Armenia still a separate country?)

    Isn't John Paul usually used as a first and middle name (separately)? it may be easier to select one as a middle name and stick with nathan as first.

    both are good Bible figures too, but I like the sound of Nathan Paul than Nathan John.

    good luck and congrats on your baby!

    I absolutely LOVE the name Nathan. I'm not crazy about John Paul together. If it were me, I would choose Nathan John.

    It's very nice that you're thinking of your grandfathers. I'm sure they will be honored that you even though of including them.

    Best of luck!
