Do you answer questions to try to help others, or just something to pass time?

I answer questions mainly to help others bcoz when knowledge is distributed it does not decrease, on the contrary it increases day by day. So one should share one's knowledge if it can bring smile on one's face. We also get helped by people so we ought to hv the same attitude.

I first come to this site to pass time, but then I see a question that I can answer intelligently that will help the someone. So, I answer the question and then I can't seem to stop looking for more people I think I could help.

A little bit of both, I think. Sometimes, I'll even try to answer questions that are so far over my head, but I do it for the challenge. I've always enjoyed researching and learning. It's fun, besides which.

It really depends on the question at hand. I try to help, but sometimes you have to answer with another question or a joke. And I wish some people would check their grammer and spell check more. Thats my two cents. And one of 'em is glued to the sidewalk.

I have so many other things to do to pass the time.

I truly enjoy the feeling of assisting others and also reading some of the answers to questions that I may also have.

I want to help others, now, I pass time reading them, so I can find the ones who may really need help. What goes around, comes around..so my answers are to help as much as I can.

If an Asker genuinely seeks help, I try my best to help.

...But when someone asks a meaningless (and often repeated !) Question, simply to 'pass time', I try to have some good, clean fun at their expense !

People feel good when they are able to help others. It is an intrinsic property of the people and society. This applies to a good majority of us. There is a minority who are actively wasting 100% of everyone's time including theirs. I belong to the safe majority - with some time to spare.

Both, I really like to help people out, and then again it's something I do when I'm bored, or all my friends have signed off Myspace!!
