Why don't ladies want to help pay a dinner bill?

Traditionally the guy pays. If you were to ask her to help pay, she might think you'll want her to do so all the time. I have paid back when I was still dating, paid the whole bill, but only with someone I really liked and was going with for awhile, and only some of the time. Also, some women don't have as much money as men do. Some do, but are very tight fisted.

You know, it depends on the girl and what they expect from you. I think it is nice when the guy treats the girl to a great night out. However, my fiance and I split the bill on every date before we were engaged. Nowadays, we take turns, or go off of who isn't broke at the moment. So yeah, I think that a girl should offer to chip in. After all, we are all about showing off our independence...what better way to make that impression?

Actually there was a time very - very - long ago I'd let a man pay the bill believing him to be a gentleman. The paying of a bill doesn't make a man a gentleman, their conduct with your heart makes the gentleman. Now, not a hope; I'd split it. :-)

because technically speaking, a men's financial abilities are directly related to his reliability and generousity. for the ladies to feel this man's reliable, certain amount of generousity is neccessary. It doesnt' mean the ladies are out to get your money, it's just how alot women subconsiously sense a man's relaibility. An honorable poor man buying a lady a little rose, means more than a busy rich man buying a woman a diamond... (at least to some women)

Buddy what is wrong with you? Get your head out of this women's lib stuff and be a real man and pay the bill. If you can't afford it, then perhaps you shouldn't be dating.

Because it's a man's job! And any self respecting guy would not be such a cheap a$$ to expect a woman to pick up the tab!
