How come there are rude people in movie theatres?

I took my son to the movie theater yesterday, and people kept getting up and down, talking, and answering their cell phones, leaning over and talking to the people behind them, people walking in late and speaking rather loudly instead of whispering, conversating, and babies were crying. It was so difficult to watch the movie. People not have manners any more. It is difficult when I am trying to teach my son manners and to be respectful!

It seems that this has become a me me me society. Seems there isn't much consideration for other people. It really has become a sad thing. On the other hand, there are still some people who are considerate and respectful of others... but that is because they were brought up correctly with parents who cared enough to teach them how to act appropriately in public. Too bad that some people didn't raise their children a little better... wouldn't have so many rude inconsiderate people today... Just keep trying to teach your son the correct way to behave in public... he will see how rude/stupid those other people are acting and he will learn. I know, mine learned and would never be as disrespectful as the people you described.

Yeah, a couple weeks ago, there was a group of kids throwing popcorn at a kid and then acting like they weren't. The kid didn't know where it was coming from. It upset my daughter so much that she didn't want to go back to the movie theatre!!

I've had the cell phone experience, too. I guess we just have to start being rude back & asking them to be quiet, or go to the counter & get our money back. Maybe the theatre will be more vigilant if they realize they're losing money because of rude people.

    Much Love!!

I know - the movies can be so frustrating. Speak to the managers ( call during the day and make sure it's a real adult, ha!) But my fave movie place has started sending in ushers several times during a movie which has really help cut down the issues that can pop up with rude folks.

Because there are rude people everywhere. Just use them as an example to your son of what not to do. You can't control them, but they can teach your son.

There are, statistically, as many rude people in movie theatres as anywhere else. Their rudeness is amplified by the fact that everyone else is being quiet!

well, use those people as an example for your son...show him how they disturb him and how he doesnt like it, so he shouldnt do it to others. maybe one day u should confront one of those people in front of him so he can see how to effectively make them shut up!! and yea...people seem to have forgotten that manners exist or something.

thats because humanity has evolved into a self centered mess.

people have no class anymore no manners and no respect for others.
