Does anyone have tips for air travel with a 10 month-old baby?

I'll be flying alone with my 10 month old daughter (she'll be on my lap) next week, and want some ideas for how to keep her (well, ME) from going crazy. She can't walk yet, but she hates sitting still for very long.

I already know the basics of air travel with baby (making sure she's sucking on something so her ears can pop, etc.)... I want to know the lesser known tricks!

We just did with with our son at the same age. We went to Hawaii and it was a 5 hour flight. The key is to talk to your doctor and find out how much Benedryl you should give your daughter. It is suppose to help them to get drowsy. That helped him relax. Another key was to have him suck on a sippy cup during take off and landing. A couple of times he tugged on his ear, but once he had something to suck on he was good. Bring lots of toys that are easy to hang on to. We lost a few things under the seats. I brought one toy that tied to the seat belt and it worked great. Good luck!

The attendant continuously brought by warm towels that I held to his ears while we gained or lost altitude (hard to tell if their ears are popping until they scream!) and the relative quietness of the plane/passengers kept him calm and lulled to napping alot. A blanket that you arrange on the floor at your feet with a few toys (new items - things she hasnt seen before) is acceptable once in flight as well. And hopefully a fellow passenger or 2 will show enough interest that she can be entertained! Safe flght!

We flew from Japan decrease back to the U. S. even as my youngest son replaced into 9 months previous. We did no longer have any hardship with him. purely make certain you've were given bottles/infant foodstuff, quite some diapers/wipes, one or 2 alterations of clothing (purely in case), and his popular toys. he will probable sleep lots of the flight besides. even as placing out or landing it is continuously solid to be feeding him or if he has a pacifier....the sucking action can assist his ears. solid success!!

ok bring food so she can eat and and bring toys so she can be occupied and if the plane has a seat in the back I suggest you to ask them if u can go back there.

my best suggestion is wear her out before getting on board. dont let her nap. also those laptop type toys seem to distract most children i know really really well.

J.P! how rude! if that was my child in question and someone said that to me, I think I would smack them.

obviously...take toys and stuff so she can play with...and once in a while...get up and walk with her...itllbe good for both of you..she wont get bored and you wont go nuts..at least i hope..good luck!

make sure they have something to bit on to help with ear poping.
